About the Author

As a mother of three, Benita knows firsthand the challenges of parenting a picky eater. Inspired by her own journey, particularly her son Harrison's culinary adventures with his remarkable cooking teacher, Ms. Akilah, Benita brings authenticity, relatability, and humor to every page. 

Benita L. Gibson:

Through her vibrant cast of twelve illustrated characters, Benita L. Gibson — the creative force behind Tattoon Kids — has developed a range of positive affirmation products, arts and crafts, toys, and entertainment designed to inspire children.

Now, Benita expands her impact with an exciting new book series, I Only. The debut installment, I Only Eat Pizza, is already earning praise as a fun and relatable resource for encouraging children to try new foods, embrace new experiences, and build their vocabulary — all while offering invaluable support to parents of selective eaters.

The Tattoon Kids are a vibrant and diverse group of twelve characters, created by Benita L. Gibson and brought to life through the playful illustrations of Fatih Reis. Each Tattoon Kid has unique personalities, interests, strengths, and character challenges, making them relatable to children of all backgrounds.


The I Only book series invites readers into the world of the Tattoon Kids, where each story focuses on one character's journey to find balance in their life. The series teaches important lessons about emotional intelligence, thoughtful communication, open-mindedness, and self-confidence through engaging and humorous stories.
